On another exciting note, my school's marching band got 12th in state, which is seven places higher than last year! It was so much fun going to semifinals and cheering and being obnoxious. We stayed overnight at a hotel and then got up at early in the morning, like five. Then we went out and did an amazing show, earning a 67.25. We were all a bit upset that we didn't break 70 this year, but there's always next year. 

So anyone dressing up for Halloween tomorrow? I know I am; and going as Link from Legend of Zelda! It'll be a lot of fun, especially since we get to wear our costumes to school! Woot!

Its been a while since I did anything on this website other than browse it mindlessly for hours upon hours. Sorry about that, I've been a bit busy with school and such. Marching band has gotten under way and its pretty fun, I really like our show music and drill. But along with the fun times and great experiences there are some pretty sad and, for lack of a better word, crappy experiences. The other day, I was told that the charming, funny and nerdy boy that I like likes one of my very close senior friends. It wasn't that devastating, its just that it reignited the feeling of dejection left by him last year and by my sister, who always seems to better at me than everything; which is what I thought to be true last year. I now realize that boys are really stupid and that if I wait it might blossom into something in the next few years. 

On a different note, The Dudes is back underway, as now I have some time to breathe. I hope all of your weeks and school are going well. Have a nice weekend! 

Recently there has been an occurrence in the summer that happens every year. A big group of people, around 90 or so, gather together in the school parking lot. Most of them have the ability to play an instrument. (you might be noticing where this is going) This group of people bond over the moments they share out in the hot summer sun, doing something that the occasional football player does not call a sport.

Yes my friends. Its band camp time. 

It started on Wednesday and and goes through this upcoming Friday. As some of you may know, band camp is most of the day, depending on your school and your music and such, and you spend it with the people who make life interesting. Initially, the freshmen are scared on the last day of rookie camp when all us old people come back. That feeling probably just gets worse because we remember old inside jokes and awkward moments that they can't really relate to. But if they are in the saxophone section, oh man they will have a lot of fun. Simply stated, we are the best around. And at football games where our school team gets crushed by some bigger and better school, we can be there and say, at least the band was good.
